Pork roast in a bag- Slow cooker recipe

Pork roast in a bag- Slow cooker recipe

Fancy a roast dinner but don't want loads of washing up afterwards or having to stand over a hot oven for long time then why not do it in a slow cooker :)!!!

  • Joint of Pork
  • Potatoes cut to the size you require
  • Any Vegetables
  • Gravy
  • Bake in bag
  • Yorkshire mixture (2 medium eggs, 2 heaped table spoons self raising flour, 2 heaped tables spoons  plain flour, 4 table spoons milk mix together. Makes roughly 8-12)
Pop the cut potatoes in the bottom of the slow cooker then place a little bit of water in the bottom then pop the veg on top, you can do this either way round. I cheated this time round and got frozen vegetables as haven't got any fresh vegetables in at the moment.

Then pop the joint of pork inside the bake in bag and pour the mixture in and move the joint all about in the bag (mine is a garlic & herb one from Morrisons with picture of chicken thighs on the front. Loosely tie it and place on top of the vegetables.

Pop slow cooker on low for 4 hours and med- high for 3 hours it does all depend on slow cooker. After then i took the joint out and popped it on a baking tray along with the potatoes just to make them crispsy, whilst the Yorkshire puddings were cooking in the oven. Whilst they are in the oven make up some gravy and pop it in slow cooker with the vegetables. Once Yorkshires are done serve all the food and Enjoy :)!!!

What do you like to have for a Sunday roast dinner??? Comment below :)Look forward to hearing what you have...

Fakeaway Slowecooker recipe

Fakeaway Recipe (Homemade Doner Kebab)

  • 500g Lean Lamb Mince (can be done with any mince if you don't like lamb)
  • Pinch of Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano Dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dried Mixed Herbs
  • Pinch Of Garlic Salt
  • Sprinkle Of Salt
  • Sprinkle Of Black Pepper
  • 1/4 Dried Italian Spiced Herbs
  • Pitta Bread
  • Salad
  • Tin foil

Put the Mince in a bowl and pop in each ingredient at a time and mix all together. Now this is the fun part start beating and punching it all as you need to beat it real hard to mix it right in and to get any air gaps out of the meat (this is to stop it from going dry!)

Shape the meat into a loaf shape and wrap in tin foil. When all done get some foil balls and place them in the bottom of the slow cooker. I always pop a little water in the bottom of the slow cooker just to cover the bottom as don't like using it dry. Pop about 4 holes in the bottom of the wrapped meat and pop the loaf on top of the foil balls with holes facing downwards this helps the fat to drain out and wont be sitting in its fat. Pop the slow cooker on high for 3-4 hours, low 5-6 hours (may vary for each slow cooker)

Dont be tempted to lift the lid whilst its cooking as it take a while for slow cookers to regain there heat. Check just before it should be done and see if the meat cooked. Once cooked use a potato peeler to thinly slice your meat. Heat up the pitta bread for few minutes under grill. Pop meat into sliced pitta bread with some salad and enjoy :)!!

Sponge cake with hint of chocolate- Slow Cooker Recipe

Yes cake you heard that right cooked in a slow cooker :)!!!! mmmmm yum!!!!

  • Cake Liner ( Brought mine from poundland picture below)
  • 120g Butter
  • 170g Sugar
  • 3 Eggs
  • 300g Plain Flour
  • 1tsp Baking Powder
  • Chocolate Spread

This is the cake liners I have used

Pop one of the cake liner in the bottom of the slow cooker, not all will ft mine sat in a oval shape in there.
Pop the sugar and butter together in a bowl and cream them together. Pop the eggs in one at a time and mix together with the egg and sugar. If using a electric whisk use on medium setting. Next pop the flour and baking powder in the mixture and set the whisk on high and mix the mixture all together the mixture shouldn't be runny but shouldn't be to thick either. Then pour all the mixture into the cake liner. Get a little bit of chocolate spread on a spoon and swirl it all in mixture do this about times and will get the marble effect look.

Can add anything else like some lemon zest in it to if fancy a little change. Next step is to pop a tea towel on the top of slow cooker then put the lid on top the reason for this is to stop condensation dripping down on the cake as that will stop it from rising.

Pop the slow cooker on high and cook for 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Some slow cookers may vary so take a very quick peak when has been about 1 1/2 hours and pop knife through it, if the knife has some on it not done if its clean its done.

Take the cake out once done and pop on a cooling rack once done decorate or leave plan and serve with custard :) ENJOY!!

Brown of the mince, onion and garlic in frying pan. Drain of the fat and pop all in the slow cooker then and all the other ingredients. Put the slow cooker on high 5 hours 6-7 hours Low.  You can play the spaghetti in with the bolognese hour before due to finish but i cook mine on hob other wise i find it goes stodgy.
